Assessment of Religious Knowledge (ARK) Test 9th Grade Practice

Sacred Scripture is the term that names the Bible as the written Word of God. It refers to the collection of inspired writings that the Church recognizes as carrying God’s truth about salvation. Inspiration describes how God guided the human authors so they could write faithfully what he wanted to communicate; it explains the process behind the text. Revelation is the broader idea of God making himself known, which can include truths handed down orally or revealed in events, not just what is written. Divine Revelation is essentially the same idea in a different phrasing. When we talk about the Word of God found in the Bible itself, the proper label for those writings is Sacred Scripture—the written form of God’s inspired message.
